I’m back! (Rant?)
So, my 3 day trip in Amsterdam is over and what can I say… it honestly felt like a fever dream. I’ll try to keep it short..
I’ll start from before-the-trip. My family decided to celebrate my birthday the evening before, cuz it would be much more convenient and we wouldn’t be able to celebrate afte the trip. My gifts were a new pair of earphones (mine conveniently broke a few days before) and a polaroid camera, which I was the most happy about.
The first day of the trip was… something. We landed at 9am and our hotel started check ins only at 2pm, so we had to roam the city with our bags, not a big problem, it’s okay. We got lost multiple times, because for me, it was nearly impossible to navigate through the city. Took the wrong metro, but eventually, we got to where we needed to be and went to our hotel. Checked in and in the evening we went to a restaurant, ate and celebrated.
Day 2. By that time, we were able to navigate better. That day we went to 2 museums, took a boat trip around the city and ended our day with a dinner at an amazing Chinese restaurant. It was delicious. Went to a grocery store to buy some snacks for evening at our hotel and called it a day. The second day was probably the most normal out of the 3 days we spent in Amsterdam.
Day 3. We checked out at around 10-11am, and had to be at the airport by 5-6pm. We spent the last day shopping, nothing much. My legs were already giving up on me by the 3rd hour of walking around and I was exhausted. But at least I bought myself a few new clothes :D we ate at a cafe and then started a whole adventure of trying to find the train to the airport. The central station is HUGE and we had to ask for directions multiple times. Eventually, we found the train station, but couldn’t find the right train. And the worker there is a mf genius. Decided to joke around for a bit until he finally showed us the right train. He probably just is a funny guy, but it’s no time to joke in a situation, where you are 2 minutes close to missing a train.
Anyways, we got onto the train and got to the airport. Navigating in there was probably harder than in the central station. I won’t go into details, I’ll just say that by the time we got to our gate, I wanted to collapse onto the floor and fall asleep.
But despite everything, it was an amazing trip! But now, I’ll have to work hard on all of the school material that I have missed lol
