Emblems of Duality - Prologue

The legends that are carried down through generations shape our lives and the lives of our descendants. One such legend is a devastating one that nearly resulted in our ultimate demise.
1500 years ago, the region of the world that is western Europe was controlled by two kingdoms, the Kingdom of the White Opal, led by a fire-based swordsman named Phoenix Blazeright, and the Kingdom of the Black Diamond, led by an ice-based sorcerer named Kodiak Freezemore. The two kingdoms fought in a devastating war, the leaders each using three crystals each to grow stronger. The war resulted in them both vanishing. The crystals that they used were thought to have disappeared as well. Each kingdom blamed each other for the disappearance of their leaders.
As time went by, the Kingdom of the White Opal's citizens and their descendants were called "Phoenixians" while the Kingdom of the Black Diamond's citizens and their descendants were called "Kodiakians." The mystery of the disappearance of the crystals was solved when 150 years ago, they were rediscovered, and they were given to the closest descendants to the original leaders of the two kingdoms. This leads us to modern day. The Subzero heritage (more specifically Tundra's side) has ancestry with Kodiak.
