Tbh depending on your placement they don't do much honestly. Snake bites have this thing called nesting where they create a pocket in your lip so it doesn't bang against your teeth and gums!! Usually gum recession happens when you don't down size after healing.
I haven't downsized though and ive had no issues I've had mine for 2 yrs. I've been too broke to afford new posts so I've been ignoring itLOL

I sometimes draw myself with snakebites because I miss them😞😞😞 I also have stretched ears but you can't see them 80% of the time so I don't usually draw them... I have sooo many piercing plans for when I'm not broke
