he wallowed alone and isolated
his petals drooping without his suns
the only semblance of contact a feeble compliment
later, fungi sprouted
he took his own eye first
his arms,
his legs,
then, his mind
he lay slain
then his body wilted
growing neutrients gone to waste
only nurturing the only thing making him a parasite.
