Hot take; “stealing” an art style

Random thought but I always thought isn’t really a big problem, I feel like everyone especially artists have always done it. That’s why I put quotations in “stealing” because I don’t really count it as like a theft but inspiration especially with young artists. Every artist has always been inspired through something’s art, and sometimes we (unconsciously) copy some of their art to form it into something, I feel like that’s how basically every art style gets created, different pieces being put together until you finally polish it enough that it becomes yours. Of course I think theirs a bit of a more difference when it comes to tracing though, like cmon now we’ve all done it in our life but at some point you should know that tracing isn’t going to get you far in the art world plus you literally could get in a ton of trouble. Thats my hot take though

Lowkey I got this thought when I was watching a TikTok and people were discussing it and I just wanted to share my thoughts because I feel like a ton of people who get accused are often very young artists who are just trying to explore more into different styles than just outright steal them, I really hate when young artists get attacked cause I see myself in them a lot of the time
