I’ve seen people where the further an object is the lighter colors they use for the shadows, I’ve been going back and fourth of whether I should use the lighter colors or dark colors, I’ll try exploring more into it but thank you for the advice !

Sometimes! It really depends on the lighting.. Here I used no opacity, the shadows are a dark reddish purple! My best advice is find where your light is (I draw a little sun for reference).. And shadows looks best when they are stronger, dont be shy to use dark colours!

When you do the shadows do you use opacity? Just asking cause I literally can’t do shadows
