I guess it's safe to say, don't simp for someone, could be years, months, decades. If you like them, just say it. If they don't really like you then that sucks. Poor dude.

In my opinion if they are your best friend I wouldn’t cut contact or hurt them. I mean yeah it’s awful that they are dating someone else but they are your best friend right? or friend idk
