Fire ability against the same thing?

My actual OC (is a Cyndaquil)
Weaker Fire Powers than me, but is strategical and used quick and critical thinking more.

Myself (basically)
Stick version of a Cyndaquil.
Same Power but stronger than Rivot, yet I use brute force more than equalizing it with quick and critical thinking.
