Exactly! Just because you have little experience drawing another race, you shouldn’t be ashamed of it, and should give it a try, without stripping away the characters dark skin! And if you do, you should just correct your mistake and apologize! 💕

I completely agree with this! I don’t really comment about it though, because I don’t like to stir up drama. But I think it is awful how, instead of apologizing and admitting their mistake, people just ignore it and don’t seem to care, while making up excuses like “it’s just the lighting” or “it’s my style.” I don’t have that much experience drawing dark-skinned characters, but it is really not at all that different than drawing white-skinned people, and not even complicated. It’s disrespectful how certain entrees for Mochi’s contest completely stripped away the race of the character, while accompanying it with an excuse. It’s honestly sad.
