It is social anxiety. It can make you feel physically sick. Plus you probably reacted this way because you locked up. Your scared that this person will not like you. This is because its still a new person. You need to try relaxing around strangers more. (easier said then done ik). I recommend asking questions instead of taking theme. Not in this case ofc. But it will put you in a place where you have more power and maybe make you more comfortable.
