I'm aware of that, but that doesn't make it a separate thing entirely. Japan isn't the only country in the world that does things different than USA. It's a visual novel at the end of the day, because it has pictures and text. it reading a different direction and coming from a different place doesn't change that
Just say comic/visual novel... Manga is just the Japanese word for it....... 😭 there's literally no purpose in saying it unless you're referring to actual Japanese visual novels or you're speaking the language
