The beginning of the Journey

Sandy felt a little rush of fear and asked Cocoa,” Do you know who? Or what they look like?” Cocoa rushed her words with a bit of fear, but also tried to hide how scared she was and replied,” Well, I don’t know who they are and what they look like, but I saw that they are coming right towards us and they are going extremely fast!” Sandy thought of a plan in a split second then said,” Gather everyone and go guard near where this animal is heading for!” Cocoa lifted her right wing above her eyes and said,” Yes ma’am!” Then she flew off, reading herself and the mothers for anything. Sandy prepared herself too then, everyone heard a distant roar and quickly prepared everything else. As the figure got closer, everyone was able to see what they looked like. It was a dark purple, male cobra... he looked like the cobra in Sandy’s dream but... he only had black spots along his back, no horns on his head, no scars and only had one diamond earring on each side of his ear flaps instead of two... his expression was fear and before anyone could do anything, Sandy yelled,”Wait! That’s the snake from my dream! He’s good!” As everyone else looked at her, Anu’u asked, “ then, why is he slithering towards us really fast?” “ He must be trying to get away from something...” Sandy replied. Cocoa then gave an order to everyone,” Everyone, we need to make a gap so that this cobra can pass... now we heard that roar... it sounds like a bear so... we have to make ourselves look bigger so that it goes away... we need to stack!” Anu’u widened his eyes as he heard the word “bear” and shook as he tried to say,” A-a-a... b-b-bear?!” Cocoa flew over to him put her wing on his shoulder then said in a calming voice,” Don’t worry, you got this... all you have to do is stand, puff up your chest and look intimidating!” Anu’u took a deep breath then said determinedly, “ Ok! Let’s do this!” “ Great! Now, go in the middle of everyone and some of these animals might go on your back... ok?” Cocoa pointed with her wing as she spoke. Anu’u nodded and went over to where Cocoa pointed. Once everyone stacked and made themselves look as big and as intimidating they can be, they all looked like a big, puffy, angry wall of animals. The cobra zoomed through the gap, and hid behind the wall of animals. There was another roar but it was much louder... Cocoa was right... it was a bear! The bear stopped in front of the animal wall... then... everyone roared, hissed, and screeched as loud as they could at the same time. The bear turned in the other direction and ran off... they successfully scared a bear!!! The animals got off of each other and celebrated with Brownie’s famous brookies! Sandy slithered up to the purple cobra and asked, “ Are you ok? What happened?” The cobra replied,” I’m ok, and with the bear... I went in his cave because I had no where else to rest...” Sandy then asked, “ why did you have no place to rest?” “Because my nest drove me out for being different... because I’m purple...” The cobra answered. Sandy felt sympathetic for the cobra... nobody should be treated like that! “ Enough about me... what is your name? Mine is Nightshade...” Nightshade asked. Sandy answered the cobra,” I’m Sandy, I like your name,” “I like your name too,” Nightshade said back.
