You’ll be surprised. The apes’ ancestors were similar to lemurs, and their ancestors looked more like mice. But before the Mesozoic Era, they looked a bit more than reptiles. Then it keeps moving on to amphibians, then fish, and later invertebrates, blah blah blah…
