i wanna speak my native language more often

OK this is a rant or something im just dumping my brain out

i wanna move to vietnam one day and speak more of the language i was born with but after being taught just english i had to learn it all by myself (theres vietnamese schools but they make me feel uncomfortable LOL). i made progress but then i found out a major barrier

the dialect i speak in is southern, and the main reason why i want to speak more vietnamese was to communicate to my grandmother (she cant speak or understand english at all)

she speaks northern dialect 😁. i think she speaks some southern just fine but i wanna make sure that she understands me
i can speak a good conversational level in vietnamese but its all in southern dialect

learning 4 new languages at once is terrifying too
ugh rolls on floor i know some of the words share the same meaning like in chinese + vietnamese but learning characters is so hard… i cant manage to learn japanese kanji and cantonese tones are so hard to grasp

however
to be fair im still learning english LOL i hate it english is the hardest language i ever learned i had to get help in elementary and i was put in english as a second language for the whole entire time until junior high
i think that if i wasnt in ESL i would never learned english on this level at all nor would i manage to make out any words
