The Masklings - Chapter 0.5 - Background infomation

The maskinlings were humble creatures. They were hunted by humans, mainly for their masks, in which they wear on their faces all the time. It was illegal to take those masks off, any maskling that took their mask off was terminated. They all lived in one giant village, each home being different in their own way. Some masklings had a big house, for big familes, and some had medium houses, for normal families. Other homes were for willows, single dads, and small families. One house stood out the most though, and that was the tiny house on the hill. No one really liked that family, this was gong on ever since the last war the masklings had. It was a maskling war, many masklings died then. Luckily it was a long time ago, the masklings multiplied. The house wasn't only different because no one liked the family that lived in it, but because it was the only house that had older children in it still. Usually once a maskling became 16, they will have to venture off to the wild and must come back when they have mated with another maskling. These masklings stayed. They never had a birthday or celebration, so that was the only reason they were able to stay legally. The two masklings that live i this house were Nahle (pronounce nalalia or naila) and her little brother, Janio (pronounce like john-io).
