How I draw backgrounds!

Now lemme specify if your in need of ideas for backgrounds, the background should resemble what the character is doing or how they look, say you draw a mystical creature, draw them in a forest or maybe at a store confused at what humans are doing-

The colors as i said should correspond to the characters palette!
The reason i draw the character on the same slide as the layout slide is because i want to make sure i know where the character is in the background, its good tp make sure you know where to draw the character so your not drawing over colors, which leads me to the next thing

Now ive tried to draw on the background slide first then draw the character and lemme tell you- its terrible its hard to see where i wanted the character because im drawing over colors rather then white
