Dentesgrandis Cursor .. my own OD (original dinosaur)
The name itself, "Large Teeth Runner," tells us a lot about this dinosaur's likely adaptations. First and foremost, Dentesgrandis possessed exceptionally large, sharp teeth. These weren't just any teeth; imagine slightly curved, serrated blades perfectly designed for slicing through flesh. This suggests a primarily carnivorous diet, perhaps specializing in taking down smaller, quicker prey or scavenging from larger carcasses.
"Cursor" points to its most significant advantage: speed. Dentesgrandis was built for running. Picture long, powerful legs, a relatively lightweight frame (compared to a lumbering giant like a Brontosaurus), and a long tail providing balance and maneuverability. It likely roamed open plains or lightly forested areas, using its speed to chase down prey or evade larger predators.
Size: Roughly 15-20 feet long, standing about 6-8 feet tall at the hip. Smaller than a Brontosaurus, as we discussed, but still a formidable predator.
Appearance: Sleek and agile build. Its spiky neck could have served multiple purposes – display, intimidation, or even a bit of protection. Its large teeth are prominently displayed even when it closes its mouth
Hunting Style: An opportunistic hunter. While capable of bursts of incredible speed to catch prey, it might also have used its size and teeth to intimidate smaller predators and steal their kills.
Social Behavior: Perhaps lived in small packs, using their combined speed and ferocity to bring down larger prey
