my dad decided to rescue a stray puppy

i wasnt supposed to pet it but like
minutes ago it came up to me curiously and i couldnt control myself cuz it was cute

since im mostly a cat person i had no idea how to pet it
but it was wagging its tail so ig it liked the pets
later on it went and decided to eat shit from the litterbox even though i let it lick me like 2 seconds ago

is that normal

anyways what should i name it if my dad decides to keep it
