Using short strokes is a little to hard to do

Yeah just don’t hold it down too much. Applying short strokes of this brush works best

The opacity leaves annoying dark spots on it for some reason

Go to the colors menu. At the bottom, underneath the grid/color sliders, there is a checkered sliding bar titled “opacity”. This lets you use translucent colors. Hope this helps!

What opacity tool? I don’t have that
