the next day
the kitten actually survived and managed to walk its way from the gym and to the school grounds
i was genuinely shocked and so was the middle schoolers that happened to be there too
i felt worried when they began crowding
but surprisingly
the middle schoolers somehow knew how to be proper human beings than my teacher herself
i was relieved
anyway since it was lunch time i was able to feed the kitten a good amount of chicken
some students were curiously asking questions here and there and the girls kept going “hey dont touch it!! shes feeding it let her do her own thing!!” which i thought was kinda heartwarming
later on i tried asking if the middle schoolers had any cardboard boxes but sadly none of them had any
one however brought a paper bag so we placed it there as a make-shift bed for the kitten
a few minutes later
lunch was ending so i gave the kitten more food before i had to go
when i handfed her a piece of chicken her tail lifted up and began vibrating(?)
idk never seen cats do that much but i think she was excited from 3 pieces of chicken meat
it made me laugh a little but sadly it was time and the middle schoolers and i had to go back to class
hours later
it was finally the last subject
thats when i felt a little worried
i didnt trust any of the staff in my school and knew i had to check on it
i told the teacher i had to go to the bathroom then just bolted out there to find the kitten
and damn i was so right
the kitten was gone
so apparently
the janitor so the kitten and threw it through the hole in the fence
(so for more context: our school is slightly elevated and is beside a forest thats been blocked up by a tall metal fence)
i was genuinely so mad
i didnt crash out infront of the middle schoolers but my friends knew i wanted to cry
what made it worse was that
i could hear the kitten meowing inside the forest
it sounded close from our side of the fence
but what made it strange was that it sounded muffled
no matter how desperate it sounded, it wasnt able to pop out from wherever it hid
i was terrified
i thought the kitten was stuck and it might be until now
i wasnt able to do anything but ugly cry on my way home
idk what to do now
