like 3-4 years ago, someone called us, when my grandmother answered the call, all we heard was a static. so, she hang up the phone. later, the same 'person' called again, so, she answered the call, it was just a static noise we heard for the second time, no voices or anything. the same number called for about 3 times, same thing happened.
