as a arab myself, all sumeru characters are straight. trust me in the middle east and north africa you can be sentenced to even death for being lgbtq+.
also it makes me angry when the community draws them in genie outfits and makes them darker like thats so racist and they say they "fixed" the characters.
I 💯 feel the same way and agree with you, I hate to see the ships people made with sumeru characters, they made them all gay when they should all be straight, as an Arab that really made me feel offended
