went out with friends to get boba one time but i was shaking badly and going through it so i texted through my notes app and we had a good laugh about it because i was texting so slow and one of them mentioned that i had the option to literally erase my words but i'm still speechless

in before anyone says anything yes this is based off of my own symptoms

xuan is *definitely* capable of speaking but often freezes up in every day situations. public humiliation is not one of those situations, he'll speak vocally if it's under what most people deem "nerve wracking."

public speeches, interviews, and presentations, he can speak vocally. everyday interaction is a little bit more of a "hassle"

his selective mutism is a symptom of ptsd, but he'll try to use any form of writing if he can't convey complex thoughts without them (though, sometimes he'll freeze up while writing. Text document is his preferred method to speak.)

i thought about making him more like a delinquent, based on my junior high self (oops.) But scrapped the idea in favor for a more "self indulgent" version of myself (in which i never persued technology and really did stick to drawing; fashion design.)

he gets fidgety and nervous when you talk to him but he's an extrovert, really, you gotta believe him
