Leptonychus (DHL) (2,7)

The Leptonychus, a hybrid designed by the founder of the DHL himself. This dinosaur is a mix between Leptoceratops and Deinonychus DNA. This hybrid resides in the Grassland Biome. At about the size of a mountain lion, these creatures have a lifestyle similar to a wolf, living in packs and having certain status levels. The drones are the ones that search for food. The matriarchs, being double the size of the drones, lead their corresponding packs and are the only ones able to breed. The sex of a matriarch is unknown, as these elusive members of the pack have been seldom seen at all, some even questioning their existence. This is also why no one knows what they truly look like. Now to their hunting skills. Leptonychus hunt at night, even though they have a poor eyesight. They instead guide themselves by smell and echolocation, using the shape of their crests to perceive sound. The sleek form of their bodies indicates they chase their prey down. Being highly intelligent, the hybrids have even shown to play with their food, terrorizing it with their haunting calls, sometimes compared to a hyena’s cackle. If at just the right level, the infrasound waves can paralyze the prey with fear until they strike, which is where the tail comes in. Much like the Scorpius Rex from JW, Leptonychus have sharp barbs on their tails that they can shoot out, but these barbs are NOT venemous. Instead, the Leptonychus have an understanding of their prey’s anatomy and can hit nerves to paralyze their prey. One field researcher got hit by one of these spikes and described the sensation as painless and similar to acupuncture. More research is still ongoing. Shoutout to… me for the inspiration.
