i was in vietnam when it all happened, i think my parents gave me the choice on if i wanted to go to vietnam or to another state that year
i chose vietnam, and there are times where i think if i didn’t go, would she still be alive?

she died in a shooting, she was shot dead brutally, she died young
she was my aunt, i had to see her face plastered in the news, i had to see parts of my family go to court, i had to watch the face of her killer. i hated the comments on those videos, i could never bring myself to watch videos about her because people called her a slut for turning him down to a dance.

i was in vietnam, and i looked over to my right side of the bed to find my mother crying. i looked over and saw the posts and last name, i only have met her once because we’re both in different states, but the chances i could’ve had was taken away.
