Velociraptor giganticus (Michael Crichton’s Jurassic World) (ranking)
Since this year it was the Jurassic Park movie’s 30th anniversary, i decided to celebrate by drawing four of the most iconic and terrifying carnivorous dinosaurs from the novels. First up, we have Velociraptor!
I’m going to say ‘Michael Crichton’s Jurassic World’ to refer to both novels so i don’t need to be typing out ‘Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park and The Lost World’ every time (besides that was the name of a book that was both of the novels grouped together into one)

FACTS:
Height: 6 feet (1.8 meters)
Length: 20 feet (7 meters)
-Velociraptors in the Jurassic Park franchise are known for disemboweling their prey with their large toe claws, slicing open their prey’s stomach and eating it while it’s still living
-The Velociraptors in the novels are shown to be extremely aggressive, with the captive variants having been shown to even resort to killing others of their kind, even when they’re not hungry
-The raptors are also shown to have a distributed nervous system and a solid build, which means these carnivores are very difficult to kill, and would require multiple shots to be taken down. Even a direct shot to the brain wouldn’t stop these predators
-The wild Isla Sorna variants of this species have different skin coloration, being green with reddish- brown stripes
-The raptors in the novels are heavily based on Deinonychus, but Crichton went with the name ‘Velociraptor’ because it sounded more menacing
-For more info i would recommend checking out the JP novels or researching on another website, as i don’t want to get into heavy spoilers

Anyway i guess that’s all for today
