How come the designs for my sketches look so much more better than the finished product

I don't get it
I know I'm not the only one too, I've heard similar things happen to others, but I just dunno why it's like that

Also, these are supposed to be two of my OCs, Crystal and Demon version of Sapphire (need a flippin name for the demon lol maybe something to do with red idk like Ruby or something lol)

The sketches are better because they have more detail and depth. Unlike fresh clean line art without any detail, characters can sometimes look awkward without shading or those scratchy lines you use in sketches
