I want to write a graphic novel later in my life

I already love art (as many of you probably already know) and i feel that i’m a pretty decent writer, with some of my teachers having complimented me on some of the work i have turned in. So far i have a couple of ideas which have been living rent-free in my head for a while, but if i ever decided to make an actual book, then this story might be my best bet.

Setting: 1920s western north america

Genre: science fiction, thriller, with some western/comedy and light horror elements

Context: our protagonist, who is a fraud and practically an idiot (think Jack Sparrow meets Steve Martin’s Inspector Clouseau), is enlisted into a daring expedition by the local authorities who got tired of him. The expedition crew is sent to find the origin of anomalies which have appeared suddenly and without explanation (from here it plays out as sort of a classic western, despite being set after said time period). However, as the crew uncovers more evidence, they are only left with more questions, things begin to make less sense, and not everything is what it seems.
