I believe that the Bible has some great lessons to living a pure life and overall just being a better person (staying away from sin, respecting others, being part of a united community, etc.), and that’s great. I go to a church with my family and the people there are just so nice and welcoming.

However, I come upon a bit of a problem when it comes to interpreting the Bible as a literal historical document, and why I don’t feel like I am able to believe in the events that take place in it, or even God Himself. Believe me when I say that I’ve wanted to believe, but I simply feel like I can’t.

I understand that completely, there are many who also want to believe but there is always a small disadvantage that stops them from doing so. some people don't look at it more closely, which stops them from believing, they just think it is unbelievable even if they haven't looked at it more closely, which would also stop them from believing.
Anyways, if that doesn't convince you then I completely respect that.
