T-Rex (also make sure to enter my challenge, ends on the end of July!)
“T- Rex doesn’t want to be fed. He wants to hunt. Can’t just suppress 65 million years of gut instinct” - Alan Grant
So anyway this is the second JP drawing recently. I’ve been drawing these bc i will draw this series of drawings in my sketchbook about every movie and tv series of this franchise. I just really wanted to practice with the T- Rex because, surprise, i haven’t drawn her in a while. I might also post some facts down here cuz why not. Also i know the neck lacks detail, but if i had decided to add every individual scale, this whole thing would have crashed like you-know-what. Like, it took ten seconds to open the file alone.
Anyway here are some facts so that you can cringe your way out of this post.
- while commonly referred to as ‘Rexy’, this T-Rex individual’s actual canon name is Roberta.
- during the T-Rex breakout scene, the animatronic would soak up water from the rain often and it would cause it to malfunction. It later had to be dried so it could be ready for the next scene.
- speaking of malfunctions, remember when the T- Rex broke through the roof of the Ford Explorer Lex and Tim were in? Well, that was one of those instances where the water made the robot so heavy it fell on the actors. In other words, those screams weren’t acting.
- also, when the animatronic fell on the kids, one of her teeth fell off. More specifically, one of her front teeth from the right side of the top jaw. They later fixed the animatronic, but decided to keep it that way for the sequels. If you pay close attention, you can see a gap where the tooth is missing in the Jurassic World movies and even the merch.
