Barinasuchus arveloi
Despite looking like something straight out of the Triassic period, Barinasuchus is a genus of sebecid crocodilian which lived around 12 million years ago during the Miocene (for comparison, the earliest hominids emerged around 6 million years ago). With a body lenght of around 20 feet (6m) and weighing over 3,500 pounds (1600 kg), Barinasuchus arveloi was, ironically, the largest known terrestrial predator of the Age of Mammals.
